Govt forgets Hari Singh Park project!
12/6/2012 1:21:56 AM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 5: Five months have passed since the former Chief Minister and Union health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad promised a park in the name of former ruler, Maharaja Hari Singh in the heart of the city.
The park was even inaugurated and Azad in a grand ceremony assured to make it a tourist resort. The park supposed to be a heaven for morning walkers has not come up till date. While tourists are nowhere to be seen, it has become a play ground for street children and rag pickers to approach the Tawi.
Interestingly, the deputy Chief Minister showed much interest in the park before the grand ceremony was held. He used to direct the concerned to expedite work on the park but the foundation stone stands there all alone to remind him and the authorities who forgot the project.
The locals while expressing dismay over the abandoned project urged immediate measures. They reminded the former Chief Minister of his promise.
The state congress unit leaders owing allegiance to Saif-ud-Din Soz say the project was hijacked by Azad. This, according to them, is the reason for the delay caused in completion of the park
