Teacher "thrashes" student for not joining his academy
CEO Rajouri assures action against accused

Rajouri, Dec 5: An eight-year-old girl, studying in fourth standard of a government middle school Nagari, in Jamola in border district Rajouri was brutally thrashed by a teacher Deeraj Kumar son of Vaid Prakash of Muradpur allegedly for not leaving government school and joining his private academy.
She was severely beaten by the teacher due to which her right hand received multiple fractures with blood coagulating in her vanes.
Sonika Devi's father Bablu Kumar, a labourer who works at Jammu to earn his livelihood, got to know the incident after four days, when he reached home in Jamola.
His father took her for medical treatment in district hospital Rajouri today, where doctors advised him for operation as her hands got multiple fractures with blood coagulating in her vanes. The girl disclosed that she was beaten by Kumar an English teacher of the said school for not taking admission in his academy. The incident happened on 30 November. "She was crying with sever pain in her right fractured hand and also terribly screed, she cannot even move her fingers as blood clot collected after threshed by her teacher with sticks" her father said.
"My wife is illiterate, she gave her home treatments under fear as teacher might stop her studies, if she disclosed this incident, she also told me several times that teacher was forcing her to admit her children in his academy, but every time my wife Rami Devi avoided him by saying we are poor people cannot effort to pay in private academies," he added.
Raj Kumar, a relative of the victim said they have registered an FIR in police station Rajouri and demanded strict legal action against the teacher. "We will take up the issue with District Development Commissioner and Chief Education Officer," he said.
Confirming the incident, SHO, Rajouri said, "We have received a complaint and proper legal action would be taken against the accusedteacher."
CEO Rajouri, Makhan Lal Sharma also assured that proper action would be taken against the teacher. "I have initiated an inquiry under local ZEO, who has to submit his report to me within two days after visiting the spot," the CEO said.
