Udhampur, Dec 5 : Udhampur Police today seized a good haul of 130kgs (bhukki) poppy straw from a narcotics smuggler at Narsoo and Madha District Udhampur.
Based on a Specific information about the smuggling of poppy straw SHO Chenani under the closed Supervision SDPO Chenani Gian Chand Sharma laid a special Naka at Narsoo and interrupted one Scooter bearing registration Number JK 14 -8524 and recovered 08 KG (Bhukki) Poppy Straw. Police at once arrested one person Karan Singh S/O Munshi Ram R/O Madha. During the course of investigation, Police party interrogated the said accused who later spilled the beans disclosing that 122 Kg (bhukki ) poppy straw, was hidden the village Madha. After his disclosure police raided the spot and recovered 122 KG of poppy straw. Police registered the case under NDPS Act and further Investigation goes on. |
