| NSF alleges pick and choose policy, seeks VC's intervention | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 5: Continuing its protest against the authoritative attitude, the students and scholars of the University of Jammu (JU) held protest demonstration across the campus under the banner of National Secular Forum (NSF) today sought intervention of Vice Chancellor of Jammu University in alleged favoritism and nepotism in the job interviews. Led by Surjit Choudhary State Sr Vice-President NSF, the students and the scholars raising slogans against the Jammu University authorities for not taking note of their long pending demands but are maintaining stoic silence over the entire matter. "The contractual working in different departments for the last several years was ignored at the time of making permanent recruitments. Committee Chairman played a major role in doing that so as to adjust the blue eyed and his nears and dears." Choudhary explained. Choudhary said that even though a post of media officer was created a long back in 2008 but this post does not seem to be in operation anywhere. Vikram Madyal Convener University Unit said that where university talks of go hi tech by using Smart Card technology in the central university but no such thing has been introduced so far. He further mentioned that there is misuse of university vehicles inside as well as outside campus. Various university vehicles are being used by officers in order to get their raw materials needed in their homes, he alleged. NSF has appealed the worthy Chancellor of the University to look into the matter and hold an inquiry into the misuse of vehicles and funds by the university authorities. Among those who were present in the protest included ,Ravi Choudhary, Shafqat Malik, Tanveer, Sheikh Mudasser Zaffer, Amit, Sanjeev Sharma, Nitish, Pushpinder Singh, Pardeep Kumar and others.
