Srinagar, Dec 5: A major tragedy was averted when a live grenade was detected and defused near Jamia Masjid in north Kashmir district of Bandipora, official sources said here today. They said a group of people were repairing wall of Jamiad Masjid at Malamgam, Bandipora, when a live grenade was found. The entire area was sealed and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) summoned from Bandipora. The BDS later destroyed the grenade without causing any damage.
