| Mufti seeks youth support to establish equality, justice | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 12: Patron of Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today sought support of the youth to establish a system where every section of the society would get justice and equal opportunities for development and economic growth. He said that youth being future of the State have to play important role in making Jammu and Kashmir as model state in the country. Addressing a meeting of student activists from different degree colleges of Jammu region who called on him at his residence this afternoon, Mufti said that it was his desire to make Jammu and Kashmir an "Island of Peace" for which he sought, cooperation and support of youth. Exhorting youth to work for unity and integration of all the three regions of the State, PDP patron cautioned them against gimmick of those political groups which speak one language in one region and different language in another region just for petty political gains. He said that it was need of the hour to teach a lesson to those forces which have been involved in double speak just to hoodwink the common masses. Mufti said that during its tenure the PDP-Congress regime had proved its capability of changing life of the common masses by treating all individual equally and providing equal opportunities to all sections of the society. He added that PDP led regime had brought transparency and accountability in the governance by strengthening democratic institutions in the state. He especially mentioned that during PDP led regime more than 70,000 youth were appointed as teachers under Rebar-e-Talim (ReT) scheme and more than 30,000 Anganwari workers were also appointed. Terming PDP as party of future in Jammu and Kashmir, he said that PDP has emerged as the real voice of the people of State. Deepinder Kour, Rajinder Singh Manhas, Surinder Choudhary, Ashiq Hussain and others also spoke on the occasion. Prominent students leaders who were present included Sandeep Singh Wazir, Vinash Sharma, GDC Akhnoor, Munish Bakshi-Commerce College, Masood Malik, Shahnawaz Khan, Ashiq Malik, Pawanpreet Singh, Jaswinder Singh, Jagroop Singh, Mudassar Wani, Abishaik Gupta, Tariq Choudhary and others. Sandeep Singh Wazir was appointed as coordinator for Jammu region. |
