| Prof Chaman flays NC for favouring FDI | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 12: The former Union Minister and MLA, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has ridiculed the favouring of the FDI especially by the leaders of the National Conference in J&K and pointed out that they are opposed to the free flow of the Indian Constitution by taking the plea of Article-370 and thus creating hurdles in the investment by the Industrial Houses of the Country. But on the contrary they do not seem to be hesitant in the creation of Wall -Mart by the foreigners. It is a strange political philosophy, he added. Reacting to the concern of the small traders and other sections of the society over the foreign investment even in retail marketing, Prof. Gupta said that the ruling leaders at the Centre could be under certain pulls and pressures for FDI but there seems lack of vision of the ruling leaders of the State getting eager in inviting foreigners for having retail business in J&K also. This, he described as the approach to follow certain controversial decisions blindly or with lack of vision thereby ignoring the interests of the small traders and other sections of the society. This approach, he described as sheer opportunism to follow the line taken up by the Congress High Command although many in UPA too, do not favour FDI in such sectors. |
