JAMMU, Dec 12: Impressing upon the Union Government to take up the matter related to cross-border firing with Pakistan Government, the Akhil Bharatiya Gujjar Mahasabha (ABGM), J&K Chapter, today said that regular firing by Pakistani troops is creating problems for the inhabitants residing along border. In a press statement issued here, President of ABGM, Eshfaq-ur-Rehman Poswal said that Pakistani troops are regularly firing on Indian areas inhabited by the Gujjars and Bakerwals community of J&K. Citing a latest example of Charunda, located in Uri in Baramulla Distrcit, where 3-persons belonging to Gujjar community lost their life in Pakistani firing on LoC areas, Poswal said that cross border firing hitting Gujjar and Bakerwal families and their cattle since last few days in areas like Uri, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, Nowshera, R S Pura, Samba etc.He urged upon the Government of India to take up the matter with Home Minister of Pakistan, Rehman Mallik, who is scheduled to visit India on December 14. He said under CBM more routes may be opened between India and Pakistan to promote religious pilgrimage. He demanded the route of Narda - Sharda located in PoK via Jumagand, Kupwara be opened on priority. |
