Taj reviews PHE, Irrigation schemes

JAMMU: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Taj Mohi ud Din reviewed the status of ongoing schemes in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control sectors at a meeting of officers and engineers today. Minister of State for Power, Shabir Ahmad Khan, who represents Rajouri assembly constituency in the Assembly, was also present in the meeting. Addressing the meeting, the Minister impressed upon the engineers to complete all ongoing schemes in a time bound schedule so that people get the benefits. He asked the engineers to undertake work on a scheme when fully assured about the dependability of a source.Taj asked the engineers to complete the under execution water supply scheme for Rajouri town expeditiously which would give its residents additional 2.5 lac gallons of drinking water. This would not only surpass the water needs of the town but make it self-reliant for many years in future too.
The meeting was told that 42 PHE schemes of various categories are under execution in Rajouri district of which Kalai, Katarmal, Dhanor, Dhabrote, Androte and Mangar Nar are targeted for completion during the current fiscal.
