| Fulfil our demands till Dec 20 or face strike: PHE employees | | |

Kathua, Dec 12: A meeting of the PHE employees and workers under the banner of PHE Workers Association division Kathua was held at PHE division here on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by District chairman of the Association Baldev Singh who was accompanied by Joginder Kumar Sharma District president Kathua. In the meeting several pending demands of the employees and problems of low paid workers were discussed threadbare. These include disbursement of pending wages, regularization of daily rated workers after five years tenure, regularization of pay scale as granted to the PHE employees under SRO-149 of 1973, maintaining of seniority list of permanent employees thereafter conducting of DPC meeting against the vacant post of division, providing of torches, bulbs, heaters, char-coal, benches for sitting and repairing of damaged pumping stations and tube wells.
The Association further demanded that salaries of the employees both of permanent and daily rated be disbursed before 5th of every month regularly. Sharma urged the sub division and division level authorities to solve their problems at the earliest. He urged PHE authorities to transfer the 4th class employees to their hometown. The Association has submitted the demand chart to Xen PHE civil Kathua and Xen PHE Mechanical Division Kathua. The Association warned that if their demands were not met till December 20, they would be compelled to undergo agitation path and "the department shall be responsible for consequences arising thereof." |
