| CRPF jawan suspended after INSAS rifle goes missing | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Dec 12: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan has been suspended by the authorities after his INSAS rifle along with magazine and rounds went missing from the base camp in this winter capital of the State. "A store man with CRPF namely D K Sahai has been suspended by the authorities after his INSAS rifle, five magazines and 100 rounds went missing from the base camp of 166 Battalion last evening at Maheshpura in Bakshi Nagar area," official sources her told reporters. Sources said the CRPF personnel had kept his service riffle in the barrack and went to duty with the service rifle (AK-47) of his colleague, Raj Narayan. "His service rifle INSAS was missing when the jawan returned back to his barrack," they added. A case under a section of RPC has been registered against him and manhunt is launched to apprehend the person who fled away with the weapon. |
