| Kerosene oil shortage due to black marketing irks people | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kishtwar, Dec 12: With the fall in temperatures due fresh rain and snowfall in upper reaches and plane areas of Kishtwar District, the people of the town and its adjoining areas are facing acute shortage Kerosene Oil, LPG and fire wood. People in large number were seen waiting in long queues outside few government run Kerosene oil depots while majority of them were closed as people alleged that officials of CAPD in a nexus with Kerosene Oil depots were involved in black marketing of majority of the supply to Matador owners, trucks, private business establishments, Sumo's and other vehicles force the shortage of Kerosene Oil in Kishtwar District. People said that due to frequent electricity cuts, shortage of LPG and Fire wood, they face a lot of inconvenience in cooking food etc. They urged up on the administration to tighten the nose around the black marketers so that people of Kishtwar District will get due quota of Kerosene Oil every month particularly during winter when the requirement of this essential natural resource enhances due to climatic conditions of the state. As per the details, there are more than 90 registered Kerosene Oil depots in Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas, but hardly over a dozen among are functional on ground while rest are distant dream for the general public. |
