| Rally to mark Intl Day of Persons with Disability held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur, Dec 12 : A Rally at zone level was organized by the Zonal Education Officer Jib to observe International Day of Persons with Disability.
Development Commissioner Udhampur P.K Pole who was special invitee on the occasion flagged off the rally from Govt Middle School Barrian. The rally passed through Salathia chowk, Gole Market and markets finally culminated at Town Hall Udhampur. About 1000 students participated in the rally from different school of zone Jib.
The District Education & Planning Officer Udhampur Ved Parkash Sharma was the chief Guest. Deputy Superintendent District Hospital Udhampur was guest of Honor.
The objective of the rally was to create awareness among public and parents of the children with special need about education as hundreds of those children in the age group of 06-14 years are still away from the school due to one or other reason.
During this program, the logistic support provided by the District Disability and Rehabilitation Centre District Hospital Udhampur and Dr Deepak Kumar Deputy Superintendent District Hospital Udhampur donated tricycles , clutches, hearing aid to the needy students on this occasion.
Among others present on the occasion included Zonal Education Officer Jib D N Ranyal, Head Teachers of Middle Schools and other officials of ZEO Jib including Kulbushan Koul, Karun Magotra , Sanjeev Sharma, Herjinder Singh, Ashwani Badyal and Anil Kumar. |
