Driver among 3 held for selling LPG from tanker illegally

Jammu, Dec 12: A major tragedy was averted when police arrested three persons including a driver were for pilfering and selling LPG from 1100 tons loaded gas tanker illegally putting the life of people at risk here in village Makhanpur, Simbal today.
'Following specific information police team conducted a raid and arrested trio on spot, police sources said further adding, "The tanker some cylinder and instruments used for filling LPG were seized on spot.' Police sources said that the tanker bearing registration number HR/38A/0363 was loaded with LPG and was destined to Srinagar from Bathinda for delivery of LPG. However the driver of the vehicle took the vehicle to his residence where he along with his two sons started selling LPG keeping in view the shortage of LPG cylinders in the city. They have been identified as Ravinder Singh,Gurpreet Singh,both sons of driver Lakhveer Singh.Trio was booked under section 407,286, 3/7 Essential Commodities Act.
