| BJP, PDP unleashing communal, divisive politics in J&K, alleges Rana | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 22 : Chief Minister's Political Advisor Devender Singh Rana today alleged that the BJP and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP were unleashing a wave of communal and divisive politics in the state in a bid to create political instability for petty political gains. "National Conference will not allow the fringe communal elements either in Jammu or in Kashmir to play the regional card because the design of these elements is detrimental to the cause of the state of Jammu & Kashmir and is not acceptable to the people of the state," Rana said while addressing the gathering of supporters and party men of BCP whose State President Rohit Bali joined the NC here today. He alleged that the BJP was a fountain head of communal politics in the country and was now spreading communalism in the state for petty political gains. "BJP has lost its moorings in the state and is now struggling to hopelessly re-establish itself by raising issues with communal overtones thereby attempting to disturb the secular fabric of the state," Rana said. The Political Advisor said the PDP which "lacks ideology and is fighting internal crises due to dissension within the party leadership is trying to somehow keep itself afloat by indulging in divisive politics so that the focus shifts from the internal dynamics of the party." Rana said state had always suffered because of the divisive politicking of negative elements who occasionally surface "but the people of all regions and religions were now unanimous over the need to protect a harmonious atmosphere." He said the NC will fight all such forces and defeat them in their nefarious designs as Jammu & Kashmir is an epitome of secularism, brotherhood and communal harmony and "nobody will be allowed to disturb the peaceful harmonious secular fabric of the state." Welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, he called upon them to work unitedly and strengthen the hands of party and its leadership. NC Provincial President Rattan Lal Gupta asked the new entrants to play their role in making development process a success and helping in reaching out people in all corners of the state for peace and development. Expressing full faith and confidence in the policy and programmes of the NC, Rohit Bali said that coalition government has proved its metal and public service approach during last over four years. Vijay Lakshmi Dutta, Chander Mohan Sharma, Mohinder Gupta, Pardeep Bali, Surinder Singh Bunty and other NC leaders who were also present on the occasion welcomed Rohit Bali into the party fold and hoped that their joining into the party will further strengthen the party. |
