KISHTWAR, Dec 22: In a share violation of Copy Right Act, the officials of Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education has attributed poetry of famous Kishtwari poet Nishat Kishtwari on the name of Kashmiri poet Nishat Ansari in Urdu syllabus of 7th class. According to the details available with Early Times, Ghulam Rasool Zargar alias Nishat Kishtwari wrote the poem "Kalam (Pen)" in the year 1940 and published the same in his collection of poetry in "Tasveer-e-Khayal" some 25 years ago. After publishing of "Tasveer-e-Khayal", Nishat Kishtwari poetry was acknowledged throughout the State as well as by many India's famous poets. Despite knowing the fact, JKSBOSE published the same in 7th class Urdu Book "Baristan-e-Urdu" and instead of writing the name of Nishat Kishtwari on it, the team of intellectual officials of the Board cleared the poetry on the name of Nishat Ansari who also happens to be a famous Kashmiri poet.
According to Riaz Ahmed Zargar, younger son of late Nishat Kishtwari that the family was shocked to know about this mistake when few intellectual people informed them about the publication of his father's poetry in 7th class Urdu book. He said that, earlier, the same poetry was also published in the 6th class Urdu edition. He said that the family members have decided to seek legal opinion and said that they will file a defamation suit in court of law against the Board officials for using the poetry of his father on the name of Nishat Kashmiri. He said that his father during life time has exchanged few letters with Kashmiri poet Nishat Ansari and said that the late author like his father is also a legendry poet, but said that attributing his father's poetry to him is neither acceptable to him or his family who had great respect and regards for him. He said that after they came to know about the incident, they took the matter with concerned Board officials who promised them that they will withdraw the book from the market. He said that despite promise by the Board officials, the book in question is still available and sold in the market all over Jammu and Kashmir.
