early times report Jammu, Dec 22: The students and staff of Alexander Memorial Sch-ool Celebrated X' mas function today with usual solemnity and gaiety. The whole campus was tastefully decorated with buntings, X' mas Tree, Star & Santa - Clauses etc benefitting the great religious festival, symbolic of the Birth of Lord Jesus Chirst more than 2000 years ago. Rev. Udai Singh, Priest-in-charge of St. Paul's Church Jammu, ID Soni, State Commissioner (S) J&K Bharat Scouts & Gudes, Jammu, Johnny William, IPS, DIG J&K Armed Police, Usha Bannerji and several other dignitaries were among the distinguished guests. The Principal, Esther William, received the guests and delivered the welcome address. The function started with a prayer and message of love and peace. By Rev. Udai Singh. The tiny tots staged a small skit depicting scenes from the Nativity Play. The campus was looking festive with little Santa-Clauses and angels. The school choir presented Christmas Carols: 'Joy to the World', Gadreya Jab Baidon Mein, 'Khamoshi Raat Mein', We Three Kings and 'Jingle Bells' in their melodious voice which left the audience spellbound and made them feel agog with joy. The programme was followed by a Christmas Lunch for the whole Alexian family and the students were buoyed up and in joyous mood.
