Jammu, Dec 22: Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) distributed scholarships to students of Chak Bhalwal, Marjali, Dharam Khoo on first day of its 10 day scholarship distribution camp. According to a statement of the Trust counselling and evaluation tests were organized for the students. The Trust was established in 1997 with the objective of supporting education of the children living in the rural/border areas. "The Trust is making a noble and critical contribution to the society by reaching out to the needy students in remote by helping them to pursue their education. Selection of students is made on the basis of academic merit and financial need from various schools of Jammu region," the statement said.
An amount of Rs 27, 130 was distributed among 48 students on the opening day of the camp.
Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Trustee, Kunil Bhalla highlighted medical, psychological, financial and material support to the students.
