| Students continue protest for justice to Delhi gang rape victim | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 22: Demanding hanging of the culprits involved in the gang-rape of a young girl in a moving bus in New Delhi, Jammu on third consecutive day witnessed protest demonstrations and rallies by school and college children . A rally was taken by the students of Government Girl Higher Secondary School, Mubarak Mandi, The rally started from Mubarak Mandi and culminated at Satwari Chowk , After boycotting their classes, the protesting students took to streets and raised slogans seeking justice for the victim girl. The protests once again paralyzed vehicular movement at various places even as no untoward incident has been reported during the demonstrations. Activists of National Secular Forum R.S.Pura Government Degree College unit, boycotting their classes early in the morning and assembled in the premises of college and raised slogans demanding death sentence to the accused persons involved in raping the 23-year-old in Delhi. Meanwhile hundreds of people gathered at Bahu Plaza here on Saturday evening for a candle light march against the heinous rape that has rocked the whole country. The rage was evident on everyone's faces as students, activists and concerned citizens of the city gathered to protest the torture and gang rape of the young woman, now battling to stay alive in a Delhi hospital. The protest started at the Green Fields park with people gathering with lit candles ready to show their discontent with the slack treatment of the offenders. All who gathered condemned the incident and wanted stringent laws to protect women against all future heinous acts like this one. There were many posters asking for justice and the immorality of letting such an incident occur again. Sporting black as a sign of protest, people walked all the way till Bahu Plaza and tied ribbons to the pole erected there to show their discontent and disgust with such crimes that are still rampant through out the country with the punishment being very small in comparison to the crime. Everyone had a prayer in their heart for the speedy recovery of the girl who has become the symbol of resilience and strength for women across the country. Hundreds of students of Government PG College Rajouri took out a protest against the heinous crime of rape committed on a young girl in New Delhi a few days back. They demanded that the rape accused should be hanged.
Rajouri Gujjar Mandi remained blocked for traffic for nearly one and half hours due to the protests. Reports said after holding demonstration in the Gujjar Mandi Chowk, the protesting students retur-ned back to College and dispersed off peacefully.
