Jammu, Dec 26: Crime Branch (CB) Jammu have registered a case against several persons including officials of the Regional Transport Office for allegedly indulging in cheating and frauds. In a statement a spokesperson said FIR No 33/2012 u/s 379, 420,465,466,467,468, 471, 120-B RPC r/w Section 5(2) P.C Act Svt 2006 has been lodged against Javed Ahmed alias Sheikh Wasim Ahmed, Ct Bashir Ahmed, Abdul Latief Lone, Vinod Singh, Chatha and some officials of the RTO for indulging in "cheating and frauds." He said that on a written complaint lodged by one Subash Chander that he was running the business of motor spare parts and sale/purchase of old/condemned vehicles and certain vehicles purchased by him during the normal course of business from accused Javed Ahmed Dar were suspected to be stolen vehicles as the documents viz. Bank Certificates and Registration Certificates, provided by the accused, on verification were found fake and fabricated. "Moreover, two vehicles (JK01K-2494 and PB-48A-4875) purchased by the complainant from the accused person were suspected to be stolen and sold to some other persons by the accused Javed Ahmed. On receipt of this complaint, an inquiry was initiated and based on the enquiry report a formal case has been registered and investigation of the case is in progress," he added. |
