| Chairman Co-Op society demands money for Minister's nephew, allege Employees | | | Early Times Report kathua, Dec 26: Employees of the Kathua Co-operative Marketing Society have raised serious allegations of corruption against its chairman. Aslam Khan an employee of Cooperative Medical Shop at District Hospital, Kathua has alleged that the Chairman has been pressurising the employees to give him Rs.1, 50,000 and Rs. 3000 per month to nephew of Cooperative Minister Manohar Lal Sharma. Aslam charged the chairman of promoting corruption in the Kathua Marketing Society and causing harassment to employees. Narrating the saga of illegal and unethical practices of the chairman, Aslam has made a representation to Assistant Registrar cooperative societies of kathua wherein he has stated that he had been working in the Cooperative Medical Shop at District Kathua. That in the year 2011 he was transferred from cooperative medical shop, District Hospital Kathua to cooperative medical shop at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Kathua. He said that the Chairman of the society after taking the charge of chairman called him and demanded Rs. 50000 threatening that if I wanted to work in the medical shop I shall have to pay Rs. 50000 to him (Chairman). That after one month said Chairman again started to harass men and demanded Rs. 20000 from me for the case pending in the High Court Jammu. That again said chairman demanded some amount from me (employee Aslam Khan) for the celebration of Cooperative Day which had been celebrated at Shakti Palace Kathua and Aslam paid rupees 5000 to said chairman. While leveling the allegation on the chairman of Cooperative, Aslam said that Chairman forced me to pay three thousands per month for the nephew of the Cooperative Minister Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma and for six month paid three thousands per month to the nephew of Cooperative Minister Manohar Lal Sharma. That again Chairman started to harass me and asked me to deposited Rs. 1.50 lakh in the account of Medical Shop Mahatma Gandhi Hospital Kathua. Under great deal of trauma and mental stress I mortgaged gold ornaments and deposited rupees 80000 in the account of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital Kathua. Meanwhile, former general secretary of the society Naresh Kumar also leveled charges on the Chairman of conducting bogus audit by producing fake documents. He also alleged the chairman of nepotism in appointments in the Cooperative Society. |
