| Successive NC regimes responsible for backwardness of Mendhar: Khan | | |
Jammu, Jan 3: Senior leader of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and MLA Mendhar Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan today blamed successive National Conference regimes for the backwardness and underdevelopment of the Mendhar and adjoining localities. In a statement issued here today, Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan said that during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed a comprehensive plan was formulated for the development of this backward region but the present regime has reversed the whole process of development. MLA Mendhar further asked, "What we expect from the present coalition Govt., a Chajjla Bridge where we need funds about 8 crore ,a second time foundation stone laid on this bridge by the Minister R&B with amount of Rupees 8 lacs still no funds have sanctioned for the bridge?" They have made cruel joke with the peoples of ChajjlaVillage where more than ten thousands population resides. He further added that the present coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah has totally ignored the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri .He has demanded police recruitment in Poonch and Rajouri districts and total ban on inter district recruitment by passing a bill in the Assembly session. He said that on spot recruitment has been going on in some selective constituencies represent by members of the ruling coalition.
