| Woman cop commits suicide under mysterious circumstances | | |

Rajouri, Jan 3: A newly wedded woman constable of Jammu and Kashmir police has today allegedly committed suicide under mysterious circumstances by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her in-laws house in Thanamndi tehsil of Rajouri District.
As per reports said that the reason behind this extreme step was not established immediately but the police said that the marriage of the constable was solemnized just 15 days ago with a police constable posted at district police lines Rajouri.
Thanamandi Police said that at about 9.00 am Abdul Rashid, chowkidar of village Dodasan Bala informed about the suicide committed by constable Afsana Kousher wife of constable Ishtiyaq Ahamd of Dadasan Bala. Afsana was presently posted at Jammu with 15 Bn of IRPF and was on leave to solemnizing her marriage.
Meanwhile Police party headed by SHO Thannamandi rushed to the village and found the body hanging with ceiling fan.
Later, the body was shifted to district hospital at Rajouri where after postmortem the body was handed over to legal heirs after postmortem in the evening.
The police have started investigation under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the reason behind this extreme step.
