Srinagar, Jan 3: A special function was organized at Radio Kashmir (RK) here to felicitate noted poet and writer Prof Rehman Rahi.
Station Head RK Srinagar, Deputy Director General Bashir Aarif welcomed the guests. Prof Rahi was showered with flower petals.
In his opening remarks noted broadcaster and organiser of the event Satish Vimal assured the audience that the Station would be hoisting many more litterateurs in the near future under "Meet the eminent" series.
Prof Rahi gave an engrossing description of his journey as a poet and writer. Prof
Majrooh Rashid, Head of Department, Kashmir University, presented a paper on Rahi's nazms while Prof Shad Ramzan presented his views on Rahi's ghazal. This was followed by an interactive segment where in the guests poses a variety of questions to Prof Rahi on his creative pursuits.
In the second session famed singer Munir Ahmad Mir rendered Rahi's impressive verse. The function was anchored by famous broadcaster Ashfaq Lone.
