EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Jan 7: Various political, non-political and students organizations today condemned the state government's 'new recruitment policy' and termed it as nothing but a step to exploit the education youth of the state.
Describing the 'new recruitment policy' of the State Coalition as political exploitation of the unemployed youths, the former Union Minister and MLA, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta observed that this would generate more heat than light. Former union minister impressed upon the ruling leaders to be realistic instead of opting for cover up tactics for their failures to keep up the election promises.
Commenting upon this new recruitment policy, Prof Gupta recalled that in their election manifestoes as also otherwise the ruling leaders had been resorting to not only high promises but also had gone to the extent of announcements which were not possible for any dispensation.
He maintained that new recruitment policy is just a political gimmick and is bound to jeopardize the future of the youths as also would adversely affect the administrative functioning. Prof Gupta in his statement underlined that the root cause for growing unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir was the Separatist outlook and communal mindset which has resulted into separatism generating terrorism and other evils.
"So called special status under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution has come to be big hurdle in the Industrial growth, he said. He stressed for ruling regime to be realistic instead of making castle in the air and to have second thought to this policy. Meanwhile students of MAM PG College Protest under the leadership of Lucky Singh (MAM College President) against the demonstration of State Govt for implementing new recruitment policy.Students of the college gathered at main gate and raised slogans against State Govt. Student also burn the effigy of Chief Minister J&K State. Speaking on the Lucky Singh said that this new recruitment policy should be roll back as soon as possible unless students' community would oppose it strongly in coming days. Condemning the 'new recruitment policy' the Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) has resented recent orders of state government against implementation of recruitment policy. Addressing the meeting president JPPF Thakur Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj termed the policy as anti-youth, unconstitutional and against the norms of equal wages for equal work. He further asserted that the said 'draconian policy' has already remained under fire, faced a tiff and furious opposition from youth and masses during 2011 and government should have thought hundred times before implementation of the same. He demanded immediate withdrawal of policy and suggested to refrain from causing confrontation with masses and especially youth of the state who will never tolerate any evil design which mars their future. The members opinioned that policies of the government are always for the welfare of the masses and not for spoiling future of the budding youths which is very clear from the fact that with the implementation of new employment policy a newly appointed youth will get only basic pay as salary for five years as against a person appointed earlier in the same category will get 3 fold salary which is nothing but a cruel joke with the youth who is future of the nation. The members were unanimous in resolving to revive otherwise suspended agitation and extend full support and solidarity with the agitating youths if the policy is not withdrawn immediately. Meanwhile the members also expressed their grand concern over the death of 1½ years child caused due to negligence and carelessness of doctors at SMGS Hospital on the other day and demanded immediate removal of Dr Aniece Chowdhary acting Principal GMC and stern action against the medicos responsible for the death.
Inderjeet Khajuria, Kr Narayan Singh, Rajiv Mahajan, S. Gajan Singh Khajuria, MS Katoch, ML Sharma and others attended this meeting
