| Soz visits Kargil to inaugurate Air Mantra flight | | | Jammu, Jan 7 : State Congress President Prof Saifuddin Soz Monday represented AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi the inaugural flight to and fro Kargil operated by Air Mantra.
In a statement a spokesperson of the Congress said Soz addressed the gathering in the snow clad Kargil Air Port in -17 degree Celsius in the company of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Minister for Health and Horticulture, Sham Lal Sharma, Minister of Transport, CA&PD, Qamar Ali Akhoon, Chairman Executive Committee Hill Development Council Kachoo Ahmad Ali Khan and others.
Soz told the members of the Hill Development Council Kargil and representatives of Congress and NC parties that it was a pleasure for him to be present on this historic occasion and join the people of Kargil in their celebrations beginning of the Kargil region's regular air connectivity with out side World.
"I told them that they would face several difficulties in the begins such as non availability of subsidy in the air fare and assured them that Omar Abdullah and me would sort-out the question of subsidy with Government of India and both of us will try to bring the people of Kargil on par with northeast where this facility is available. I told the gathering that Rahul Gandhi was very keen to get beautiful valley of Kargil and its adjoin valleys on the tourist map of India and strengthen Kargil regions air connectivity, telecommunication connectivity, road connectivity, as early as possible," he added. |
