| Only 3 PoK guests arrive, 8 Kashmiris cross to other side of LoC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Jan 7 : Only three guests from Pakistan- occupied Kashmir (PoK) arrived here this afternoon while eight Kashmiris crossed over to the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) in the first bus of 2013 to meet their relatives separated in 1947. Eight returnees also crossed sides at Kaman post, the last Indian military post, after crossing the Aman Setu, peace bridge on foot, in Uri sector, official sources said here today. They said three PoK residents, including a woman, arrived at Kaman post this afternoon. Three Kashmiris, who had gone to PoK to meet their relatives in previous buses also returned here. Eight Kashmiri residents crossed over to the other side of the LoC to meet their relatives. They included two women, sources said. Five PoK residents returned to their homes after completing stay in Kashmir. This was the first bus of 2013. The number of PoK guests decline during winter because of severe cold here. However, the number increases during summer. The bus service has helped more than ten thousand families divided in 1947 to meet each other since it was started on April 7, 2005. |
