| Cultural Academy organizes Children Music Competition 2012-13 | | |

Jammu, Jan 7: With the aim to promote light, folk and classical music and search a talent among the children, the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and languages today inaugurated 3-day Music competition here at K.L Sehgal, Cultural Academy Complex Jammu.
On this occasion Savita Bakshi, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages said this event is the regular activity of the Academy but due to the non availability of the funds the same could not be organized for the last two years.
Renowned artists of the State Jammu and Kashmir Surinder Singh Manhas, Suraj Singh Insctuctor Jammu University in Music Deptt were the adjudicators in the infant Group while Sunaina Koul and Prithvi Raj Sharma were in the Junior Group.
Karan Malhotra and Shashi Kumar were on Tabla and Hormonium as well. About 70 Students of the various govt and private esteem Schools and institutions of the region have registered their names to take part in this competition wherein they will get the rare opportunity to showcase their hidden talent in various discipline and forms of the Indian classical and folk music.
Dr Sudhir Mahajan was the overall in charge of the programme while Irshad Hussan assisted to Dr Mahajan. |
