| Kashmiri Migrant Relief Holders criticize silence of govt over hike in relief | | | Early TImes REport
Jammu, Jan 7: Coming down heavily on the stoic silence maintained by the government on the proposal of enhancement of cash relief to the KP relief holders, the leaders of Kashmiri Migrant Relief Holders and Over aged Association said that callous stance taken by the authorities who are at the help of affairs has multiplied the sufferings and misery of displaced Kashmiri Pandit Relief holders. The Relief holders who were on strike last time for about three months were not for fun in the sweltering temperature or for any picnic but were awfully compelled to raise their voice for enhancement of cash relief and the government has put the proposal on the backburner. To highlight their demand of cash enhancement Relief Holders held a protest rally today in which leaders criticized the state government and said it is an irony that despite the shooting up of the prices of the essential commodities the authorities at the helm of affairs are maintaining criminal silence on the issue of enhancement of cash relief to the displaced people. "How can a family with a meager amount of relief carry on in these ever growing price hike era, they questioned. First it was state government who responded with negligent late and now it is the central government playing dillydallying exercises. The speakers urged the central government to show the will in responding to the problems being faced by the exiled community. Any concrete steps in this direction can be a small confidence building measure. The speakers appealed to all the Displaced Pandit organizations including the Apex committee members to continue their active support in their just struggle which they had been giving so far. They also appealed to struggle for the cause under unified mindset. |
