| Narcotic smuggler held, his wife booked for allegedly assaulting police | | |

Kishtwar, Jan 13: Police today apprehended one drug peddler alongwith huge haul of contraband (Charas) from Kishtwar Bus Stand Kishtwar while police also booked the wife of the accused for allegedly assaulting Police team.
According to police sources a team of police comprising Constable Jaffar Hussain of DSB branch and Constable Shafayat Hussain Dar of Police Station Kishtwar apprehended one Fareed Ahmed Sheikh s/o Abdul Rashid Sheikh of Hidyal Kishtwar from Bus Stand Kishtwar along with hauls of Charas.
According to reports, getting suspicious over the movements of accused the two active police personal apprehended him and found large quantity of Charas from his possession. Meanwhile Kishtwar police registered a case against FIR No 3 under NDPS Act against the accused.
Pertinently the accused Fareed Ahmed Sheikh is a habitual narcotic smuggler who also had remained in jail in similar cases prior to his release on bail by the Session Court Kishtwar few months ago.Meanwhile Kishtwar police also has booked wife of the accused for allegedly involved in assaulting the police personnel on duty.
Police sources said the wife of accused created uproar inside the police station and assaulted the police personal.
Taking strong note of assault on police personal, police also booked the wife of accused under relevant section of the law however she was not arrested till the last report came. |
