| Kamaal revives diatribe against Congress | | | Bashir Assad Jammu, Jan 13: National Conference-Congress alliance in Jammu and Kashmir has proved to be incompatible beca-use track record of Congress has proved it, be it 1977 withdrawal of support or present day partisan politics of Congress. This was stated by additional General Secretary NC Dr. Sheikh Mu-stafa Kamaal while talking to Early Times on Monday. "despite best efforts to strengthen the coalition the Congress is playing spoil spot by playing regional politics including the resettlement issue of west Pakistani refugees" Kamal said while referring to the latest statements of some Congress leaders over the resettlement of WP refugees. "raising such issues now when they could have raised this issue when they were sharing power with PDP, is not only harming NC but is also pulling the coalition apart which is neither in the interest of the state nor that of the country" said Kamaal. When his attention was drawn towards some statements made by some Congress leaders time and again stating that if NC was not comfortable with Congress then why didn't it snap ties with the party Kamaal maintained that pulling out or snapping the ties will not be in the interest of the party. Kamaal in reply to yet another question said that NC has not compromised with its principles and will never do so in future. While launching a scathing attack on Congress Kamaal said that the end game of Congress and its one time ally the PDP is to bury the NC politically. Kamaal further said that NC was very much alive to this danger and will do all in its power to thwart such nefarious designs of Congress and PDP. Kamaal, however, was quick to add,"we would like to see coalition successful despite its short falls and added that Congress at Centre is being misguided by locals.
