Ramnagar, Jan 13: While making a fervent appeal to the Chief Minister for a complete overhaul of education-related scenario in Ramnagar, General Secretary, J&K PYC R S Pathania Sunday decried poor educational facilities in the area. The results of the schools in Ramnagar are nose-diving die to lack of infrastructure, teaching staff, well-equipped laboratories, libraries, playgrounds and lack of facilities for extra-curricular activities, he said. He accused that constitution of village education committees has been on purely political basis "thereby eroding the very scheme and object of these committees sought to be formed under SSA with a view to streamlining and monitoring educational activities hereinover." Going by the letter and mandate of Government order dated 21-08-09, these Committees had to be constituted by the village headmasters in collaboration with ZEOs after calling the general meetings of respective villages in presence of local Panchayats and that the order absolutely specifies what shall be the parameters and composition of education committee. "But the position as on ground in Ramnagar is that these committees are being framed in abject violation of norms and guidelines specified for the purpose," Pathania said. He also accused local MLA of upgrading schools on purely political considerations - "projecting less deserving schools at the cost of more deserving ones." "Paucity of staff and subject teachers has crippled the working of schools in the area, particularly, HSS Khaned, HSS Keya, HSS Chowki, HSS Thail, HSS Garh Samna Banj, HS Rang, HS Kotwalt, HS Bainsta, HS Balota, HS Satyein, HS Dehari, HS Pachound, HS Dudu-Kirchi, HS Badhole, HS Lower Balota, HS Bogodh, HS Bari, and MS Upper Balota," he added. |
