SAMBA, Jan 13: J&K Jat Intellectual Forum (JKJIF) organized a one day national Jat Intellectuals meet at Vijaypur today. Prof. J K Gehlawat, International President of Jat Biographical Centre was the chief guest while Jaiwanti Sheokand, former Chief Secretary Haryana presided over the function. Theme of the meet was 'Role of Jats in Nation Building & Need of Unity Among Multi Faith Jat Community'. On the occasion, main issues deliberated upon were need of creating a Jat History, addressing to social evils like prevailing Dowry system, curtailing of lavish expenditure on marriage and other ceremonies, need of higher education and control of drug abuse.
Among prominent Jat Intellectuals from J&K present in meet, the intellectuals from other states include Prof. Dalel Singh, Vice Chancellor Raigarh University, Rajasthan and Sanjay Rathi, National Secretary, Union of Journalists. |
