| MLA Kathua inaugurates drainage work | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, Jan 13 : MLA Kathua Charanjeet Singh today said that suspended works of town drainage would be started soon.
While inaugurating construction work of central drainage in the street of RMC School Patel Nagar here, he advised the contractors to adopt proper norms and conditions to produce the quality work.
The work has been started under centrally sponsored UIDSSM scheme but several drainage works are suspended in the area due to the lack of funds. After the request of state government to the center the funds were sanctioned.
The town drainage work was badly affected due to lack of funds due to which most
ongoing construction works of drainage in Kathua were abandoned by the contractors.
Singh also demanded that the Municipal Committee of Kathua should be made resourceful institution in a way to provide the maintenance as well as new construction of any lane and drain in its jurisdiction. |
