| PYC flags off delegation of Sarpanchs, Panchs to study PRIs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 13 : Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) today flagged off the delegation of Sarpanchs and Panchs to study Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) in Maharashtra and Kerala. Addressing a press conference here at Jammu, President PYC Shahnawaz Choudhary along with Vice President PYC Pranav Shagotra and General Secretary PYC Manjeet Singh Jatt congratulated those Panchs and Sarpanchs who have been shortlisted to study the Panchayati Raj system in Maharashtra and Kerala. Choudhary and others also said that Panchayati Raj model is the best model in the whole country and the government of Jammu and Kashmir also has made high level committee to make amendments in J&K Panchayati Raj Act and very soon J&K will have new amended Panchayati Raj Act. They said that Sarpanchs and Panchs who are part of this delegation will become the role model for the Panchayati Raj system in J&K. in the delegation the Sarpanchs and Panchs will interact with the PYC leaders demanded adequate security for Sarpanchs so that such incidents could be avoided in future. Pankaj Basotra LYC President Kathua-Udhampur-Doda is leading the delegation of Maharashtra while Amir Rasool LYC President Srinagar is leading the delegation of Kerala. |
