REASI, Jan 18: A meeting of All J&K Kissan Union (AJKKU) was held at Reasi, which was presided over by its District President, Vijay Sharma. The meeting discussed several issues including delay in issuance of Kissan Credit Cards (KCC), land passbooks, membership drive, crop and cattle insurance on government expenses, provision for separate farm budget on national and state level and construction and establishment of Kissan Bhawans at block, districts and provincial level. While expressing serious concern over non-issuance of Kissan Credit Cards and land passbooks to the farmers, the AJKKU Chairman and Former legislator, Ashok Sharma demanded Rs 500 crore drought relief package to the farmers of the Jammu region against loss of their crop, fodder, etc. in kharif 2012. Sharma urged upon the District committee of Kissan Union Reasi to organize mass contact programmes to aware the farmers besides enrolling them as members to ensure their unity on single united platform to struggle for their rights. The Chairman AJKKU enrolled Vijay Sharma, District President as the first member in the District by launching new membership campaign in the District. Vijay Sharma, District President AJKKU, Reasi in his address assured to take the mission of farmers welfare of the Kissan Union to every corner of the District and form committees on panchayat and block within a period of two months. |
