| Srinagar-Jammu highway closed | | | DUE to the inclement weather conditions, the Srinagar Jammu highway was closed for traffic after 3 pm on Thursday, said an official of the Traffic Department here. No vehicular movement has been allowed on the highway today also. The air traffic also remained affected on Friday which led to cancellation of several flights coming to Srinagar from Delhi and Jammu. Meanwhile, the state Government issued an avalanche warning in far flung areas of north Kashmir in the wake of the heavy snowfall there. Medium danger avalanche warning has been issued by Divisional Disaster Management Authority on the basis of information from Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE). People living in snow bound areas of Gurez, Chowkibal in Kupwara, Tangdar and Keran in Kupwara, Nowgam in Kupwara have been warned not to venture in steep avalanche prone slopes for the next few days.
