| Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Govind Singhji celebrated across Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 18: Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Govind Singhji, was celebrated across the city with great enthusiasm, religious fevour and gaiety, here today. The main celebration was organized at Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Chand Nagar, by the district Gurudwara Parbandhak committee. In which large number of devotees including Minister for planning, Ajay Sadotra paid obeisance. On the occasion Ragi Jatha of Darwar Sahib recited the Gurbani and sangat was spell bound by their melodious voice and music Bhai Nachtar Singh Preacher of Sikh Gurmat Gyan Missionary College Ludhiana and Harsimran Singh Anandpuri threw light on the Sikh history and golden realiems of Sikhism. On the occasion a resolution was also passed in which demand for holiday on the eve of Birthday Purab of Sri Guru Gobind Singh and Martyr's day of Shri Guru Teg Bhadur Ji the 9th Guru be declared as holiday under negotiable instrument Act, permanent settlement of 1947 POK uprooted families, reservation in government job, implementation of Ansari commission report, representation of Sikh in the state Ministry, SSB and PSC appointment of a minority commission. Arrangement for Guru ka Langar was also made wherein thousands of devotees took the langar Prasad. Meanwhile, similar celebration was also observed at Sri Sant Mela Singh Ji Technical Ashram Digiana. Speaking on the occasion, Mahant Manjeet Singh ji told that Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj was born on December 22, 1666 and protected the Hindu religion to safeguard the entire nation. He further said that Guru ji spread the message of peace, love and equality among the people of country and raised the voice against cruelty and injustice among people of India and the rulers of that times. |
