| Aftermath Reshuffle: Resentment brewing in Paharis belt against Govt for negating them | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Jan 18: The recent reshuffle of the state cabinet not only has created ripples within alliance but it also sent shock waves outside also. If NC and Congress leaders are reportedly simmering with anguish a great deal of resentment is brewing among the Paharis who feel that their elected representatives have been sidelined. In a joint convention organized by Pahari Student Union State president Abdul Kadar Khan in which presidents of college units and other pahari leaders participated. The speakers in this meeting underlined that though they have been taken for ride by the successive governments in the state but the recent reshuffle in council of ministers has also left them perplexed and shocked. "It virtually has given a set back to the paharis, the speakers said. Among those who addressed the meeting and criticized the NC and Congress for negating Paharis aspirations, included Sayeed Mughal Distt President Student union Rajouri, Nadeem Mir president college union Manjeet Singh , Nadeem Khan, Amit Sharma, Owais Khan and Mandeep Singh etc. Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Khan and Vijay Kochhar recalled that President of India and Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh while visiting Uri, and Tangdar, Karnah and the entire Pahari region after few days of Quake in Oct 2005, expressed deep solidarity with the Pahari people of J&K and all the leaders of J&K Political Parties in front of national leadership justified and promised for ST status to Paharies but till date it is dream to come true. Meanwhile in a media interaction organize under the Leadership of M A Sagar Provincial president of the forum and Vijay Kochhar Provincial General Secretary the duo appealed to the people of Pahari Community to be united to launch a united struggle under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Pahari Cultural and Welfare Forum both these leaders also appealed all the Pahari politicians to leave there political affiliation for the cause of the community. Meantime State President Pahari Student Union and Chief Executive (JKPPM) Shahbaz Khan and state president Pahari student Union Ab Qadir Khan also raised the similar demand and said that Pahari are striving for ST status and any further delay would further create wide between the leaders of political parties and Paharis.
