Defence ministry spokesman was not available to give details about the incident. The sources said that entire Naugam sector in north Kashmir received about six to ten feet of fresh snowfall since yesterday. The authorities had issued a medium range avalanche warning in Naugam and other upper reaches, particularly near the Line of Control (LOC) because of fresh snowfall. They said today a forward post came under a huge snow avalanche. Two army personnel present in the post were buried alive, they said adding the rescue operation could not be taken up because of bad weather. Sources said the helicopters could not be operated because of poor visibility and snowfall.
