| Schools, colleges to remain closed today | | Heavy snowfall in Poonch | | Early Times Report
POONCH, Jan 18: The district administration especially the Power Development Department has been geared up to restore the 132 KV line from Thanamandi to Poonch via Draba which has got damaged due to bending of towers/33 KV and 11 KV lines in the wake of heavy snowfall.
The people have been asked to have patience and cooperate with the district administration. A strenuous efforts are being made for restoration of power supply which may take some days. Due to power snapping drinking water supply will also be affected. The people have been asked to conserve drinking water and make its use judiciously.
The School and Colleges in the district shall remain closed tomorrow.
In case of any emergency, the people should contact Police Control Room at 01965-220258 or district Control Room at 01965-220347, 222723 or nearest police post, police station or army post.
People are advised to remain cautious and should not venture into landslide or avalanches prone areas. |
