| JTC, SKF hold meeting, discuss problems of KP migrants | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 31: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Jagti Nagrota and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K was convened under the presidentship of Shadi Lal Pandita President of both organizations to discuss the problems being faced by the KP migrants and inmates of Jagti Township. While addressing the meeting, Pandita said that the KP migrants will continue to lodge protests and rallies to press for acceding to the demands of the KP migrants viz a viz dignified return and rehabilitation in the Kashmir Valley at a safe place, payment of the compensation for all these years of migration, compensation for the loss of the properties and restoring the position of the encroached and illegally occupied properties of the KP migrants. Besides the encroachments and illegal occupations of the properties and the shrines of minority community got evicted and original position restored. Pandita further demanded that the government should implement the Prime Minister's Employment package in toto by filling the remaining posts embedded in the package. Pandita was critical of the government for granting meager enhancement of the cash relief to the migrants saying it is not in tune with the market height. Pandita further said that the government and the relief organization need to get discarded all the fake relief ration cards so that its benefit goes to the genuine migrants only. |
