90 livestock perished in Kishtwar

Kishtwar: At least 90 livestock including sheep, goats and lambs got perished in a fire incident at Melan area of Trigham Kishtwar.
According to the officials of Revenue Department Kishtwar, the fire broke out at a cattle shed belongs to Mohammad Ramzan Ganie and Ghulam Rasool Ganie both sons of Ali Mohammad Ganie resident of Melan Kishtwar during last midnight as a result of which the whole cattle shed reduce to rubble causing death to all the 90 livestock (60 sheep, goats and 30 lambs) kept inside the shed.
As soon as the news of the fire incident reach Kishtwar, Tehsildar Kishtwar Indeerjeet Singh Parihar, SHO, Kishtwar Mushtaq Ahmed Jiral and revenue officials rush to the spot to access the loss, beside to check the spread of any kind of disease. As per the roughly estimate, the owner suffered losses to the tune of approximately Rs 5 lakhs. The cause of the fire is said to be the furnace used by the victim for keeping the cattle shed warm due to prevailing winter conditions in the area.
