| Shahzad lambasts school authorities for negligence | | DPS incident | |
Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Feb 9 : Senior Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) leader Shahzad Khan has expressed his condolence on the sad and untimely demise of a 13 year old student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu. In a press release issued today, Khan lambasted the negligence of the school authorities which led to the accident that crushed the student. Shahzad said that the government is least bothered about the negligence and careless driving by the school bus and matador drivers. He said that lack of parking place in the schools force the children to pass through congested market area to reach the school after de-boarding their school buses. The government has failed to check the plight of the students and has let the school authorities to carry on with their whims and fancies. He said that even in Rajouri and Poonch the drivers drive rashly and negligently. The buses and matadors are overloaded and the drivers not only drive rashly but even overtake each other so as to get a couple of passengers more than the other bus and reach the destination earlier. Besides, he said that the public conveyances are old and in poor condition which make them more vulnerable to machinery failure and even accidents. Shahzad said that no police identification and verification of the drivers and cleaners are done to avoid any untoward Delhi like situation. Besides, the drivers are untrained and carry "managed" driving licence. The RTOs for a mere small amount issue driving licences without test drives. He said that it is unfortunate that the government is doing nothing but just mutely watching. The traffic police instead of managing the flow of traffic are just minting money in the form of challans. |
