| Address core issue, say Kashmir politicians | | |
Jammu: While Kashmir based parties and politicians have for evident reasons expressed unhappiness over execution of Afzal Guru, this has given them an opportunity to link up the Kashmir issue with the issue which they have desired to be settled by the two nations. While NC leader Mustafa Kamaal in his reaction today said that the root cause of unrest and violence was the Kashmir issue, he has asserted need to settle it saying this was the solution to prevent recurrence of such incidents. On the other hand PDF president Hakim Mohammad Yasin too in his reaction vouched strongly for addressing what he said was the core issue and its unsettled dimensions responsible for unrest among people of Kashmir. "Afzal Guru's death sentence should have been commuted into life imprisonment….which is what people of Kashmir were asking for", he said while commenting on execution. However, this also brings into focus the need and attention of powers that be to address the core issue, he added. |
