| VOKP delegation calls on Relief Comm, apprises problems | | |
JAMMU, Feb 9 : A delegation of Voice of Kashmiri Pandits (VOKP) today called on the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner R K Pandita to apprise the problems being faced by the dwellers of the township. The problems mainly focused were erratic power and water supply besides lack of proper medical facilities.
The deputation demanded qualified staff for Higher Secondary School, Jagti and sought up-gradation of laboratory and library.
The insecurity of inmates in absence of a Police Post was also raised as even after repeated requests to administration a Police Post could not get the light of day and the unscrupulous elements move freely.
The Relief Commissioner was requested to release the cash relief for the month of February, 2013 in advance alongwith enhanced arrears before Shivratri and also the release of sugar in favour of government employees.
Pandita assured the delegation all the possible help in mitigating the problems.
The members present in the meeting were Roshan Lal Raina (Apex Body Member) Shesh Nag, R.N Dhar, Ravinder Raina, Vinod Tickoo, M.L. Dhar and others. |
