Kathua, Feb 9 : To make the strong check over the violation of a government order 41/MVD of 2012 for providing the bus fare concession to the students, and various other categories, the Transport department has started to paste the copies of the order on buses of route Jammu-Kathua, said an official. Salim Manhas ARTO Kathua, said that 28% charges for students have already been paid to the bus operators so now3 they are not bound to full bus fare from the pockets of the students. "To control the violation of the government for bus fare, it was necessary to create the mass aware about the fair concession for students as well as few categories which are selected by the government by pasting the notifications of government order on buses" Salim said. He said that physically handicapped/disabled persons, cancer patients, and dump/blind, freedom fighters, and pathalacaemia patients with attendant also, war widows, HIV/AIDS patients are the major categories for which the government has given the relaxation in bus fare upto 50% so no bus operators can charge more than 50% fare from the said categories. He further said that a child not more than 12 years of age shall reckon as half and a child up to 3 years of age shall not be reckoned and no charge will be collected from any handicapped person for carrying wheel chair, tricycle or any other mobility aid while travelling. |
