JAMMU, Feb 9: Cantonment (Cantt) Star Cricket Club (CSCC) today registered a fine 55 runs victory over Young XI to move into the next round of the 2nd Ravi Singh Charak Memorial Twenty20 Tournament underway at Government High School, Satwari ground, here. Batting first, after winning the toss, CSCC set a target of 128 runs for six. In reply, Young XI failed to attain the goal and exhausted their quota of 20 overs for 72 runs with two wickets remaining. Sagar Gupta, Dheeraj and Rahul were main contributors to the team's total with 35, 31 and 20 runs in their respective accounts. From Young XI, Raghu took three wickets, followed by Sunil two and Rishu one. Later, Young XI could make 72 runs in given 20 overs for eight wickets. Vishal remained highest run getter with 27 runs. Umesh, Rahul and Rinku shared two wickets each. For his all-round performance, Rahul was adjudged man of the match. Today's match was officiated by Purshotam and Vijay Choudhary as umpires while Munish was scorer. FIXTURE: Gorkha Cricket Club shall meet Lions Club while Brig Rajinder Cricket Club shall be playing against Shouri Club, Miran Sahib tomorrow. |
