Jammu, Feb 9: On the Day 9 of the prestigious SaMaPa Aalap Festival 2013 featured vocal recital by Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan at SNS Vidhya Mandir, DBN School, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan, one of the leading exponents of the Classical Vocal music and the Khalifa of Dilli Gharana, is known for presenting the raga Sangeet in its purest form maintaining the essence of the shastra and gayaki with bhava and tayari. While explaining the subtle technicalities he also made the young children sing with him. He commenced his recital with Raga Bhairav presenting the bandish 'Sun Le Mori More Data'. He also presented various compositions giving a brief introduction of various ragas like Tulsidas's Pad 'Shyam Bansi Wala' in Raga Kalingda, Shiv Stuti 'Damru Har Kar Baaje' in Raga Gunkali, Meera's Pad 'Ram Naam Ras Peejay' in Raga Komal Rishab Asavari, 'Phagwa Brij Deekhan Ko' in Raga Basant, 'Hari Hari Daliya' in Raga Bahar, 'Mayani' in Raga Basant Bahar followed by few compositions in Raga Bhairavi.
Earlier, Abhay Sopori in his address said, it's very important to familiarize each and every child with the rich traditional art, culture, music and languages of the country so that they could carry forward it with responsibility.
On 10th February, SaMaPa Aalap Festival 2013 will present Sarod recital by Danish Aslam Khan at R.S. Pura border. |
