JAMMU, Feb 9: The Kathua District Library Hall glittered with a galaxy of poets and fans at a poetic sitting held here under the aegis of cultural Section of the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Saturday. Eminent poets from different parts of Jammu region fascinated audience with their poetic collections. The poets who presented their verses were Arsh Sehai, Angrez Singh, Sardar Manohar Singh, Vijaye Thakur, Dr. Usha Monga, Sanjay Saigal, Harjinder Singh, Sorajwala, T.R Songdia, Vijay Sharma, Ajay Sharma, and Mohamed Siddiq. Today's mushaira was part of Academy's endeavour to promote literacy activities at the grass roots level. Presided over by noted poet-writer, Arsh Sehbai, the mushaira had MLA Kathua, Charanjeet Singh as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Sehbai praised the poets for their versatile rendering of poetic verses. He also congratulated the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for organising a successful poetic sitting. Apart from holding the poetic sitting the Academy also released Dr. Karan Singh Karan's three latest books which include Pandit Harish Chand Akhter Aur Un Ki Nasar, Loho Kalam and Naresh Kumar Shad Ki Kahani Kuch Un Ki Aur Kuch Meri Zubani. |
